This hardened H13 tool steel retainer was developed on our Spintron valvetrain dynamics test cell to be used with Katech camshaft packages for increased long term wear resistance versus existing titanium retainers. Titanium valve spring retainers have been validated in these packages for years, but are a maintenance item as the steel spring does normally etch into the titanium retainer. These Katech Extreme Duty H13 Tool Steel Dual Spring Valve Spring Retainer were developed for extreme racing conditions that can be more harsh on valvetrain components than usual. They have been validated for stability up to 8100rpm and for durability using Katech's 24 Hours Of Daytona course simulation.
